Aiming to put the spotlight on my heritage, Górale simply portrays the beauty of Polish culture that hasn’t received much attention, but deserves to be told. This series includes portraits of my family wearing traditional folklore attire in our hometown, Zakopane. We are known as the ‘Polish Highlanders’ that inhabit a region of the Tatra Mountains. Our dialect is made up of many influences, embracing words from former nomadic times. We eat a large amount of cheese and meat-based dishes and we don’t think there’s anything to love more than dancing. Ultimately, the culture and family values I’ve experienced growing up has deeply grounded me as an individual and I couldn’t possibly be more proud.
